The SPIKE Project Recipients
SEPT. 23, 2016
Dear Members of The Spike Project,
In life, we are taught to make plans, establish goals and then work hard to make those goals become a reality. Rarely are we taught though, what to do and how to deal with setbacks and disappointment—especially when both are unexpected and cause financial hardship like a dark cloud over a person’s head. But then again, dark clouds do not last forever. My daughter Finley is 9 ½ years old and is a kind-hearted, active, spirited, and smart young lady who has been blessed by The Spike Project as a recipient to receive financial assistance and support to achieve her athletic goal: playing on a full-time travel softball team. Through The Spike Project’s funding, not only is Finley able to play softball with her friends, but she will be able to discover, learn, and understand valuable character building skills such as teamwork, listening, time management (balancing school with activities), integrity, hard work and commitment. Maya Angelou, legendary poet and award-winning author advises and encourages people to “Try and be a rainbow in someone’s cloud.” Thank you, Spike Project, for being our rainbow.
Warmly,
Bridget
